How to Join HtH

Do you like to sing? Do you have the desire to grow as a leader? Do you want to make the world a better place?

Harmony through Harmony might be the right place for you!

At HtH, we are on a journey to discover how to have harmony with God, to live in harmony with others and to experience harmony within. We hope you will come and join us!

What is the time commitment?

(NEW FOR 2020-21 SEASON)

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our singing communities will look a little different than in previous years. We will be running both in-person and virtual gathering options.

In-person gatherings will occur weekly for Calgary-based participants on Tuesday evenings, October through May. In-person gatherings usually last about 3 hours.

Depending on interest and preference, we also plan to offer weekly virtual ensemble gatherings on either Wednesday evenings and/or Thursday mornings. Virtual gatherings last about 1.5 hours. Participants in our virtual ensemble can be from anywhere (including outside of Calgary), as long as you have reliable internet access.

Live performances will be reduced in frequency this season, due to pandemic restrictions. Most of our performing will be to prepare audio and video recordings to share with our online audience.

Requirements for participation in our HtH community include:

  • Some ability and desire to sing.

  • Desire to grow and be challenged as a performer, as a leader, as a person

  • Openness to exploring belief systems

  • Alignment with our HtH Core Values

  • Completion of audition and interview

Ability to read music, previous choir experience would be assets, but not required.

HtH participants do not need to be followers of Jesus, however, they need to be open to the leadership of HtH bringing their Christian perspective to discussions.

Is there a cost?

There is a nominal participation fee that is currently $125 per year. There is also a supply fee for sheet music, books and photocopies of approximately $75. Other operating funds are raised through performance revenues, donations, or grant applications.

We will not be involved in any fundraising that comes from gambling revenues (e.g. bingos, casinos).

When HtH does a “learning and serving” trip, these costs are in addition to the above.
