Beth McLean Wiest
Beth gives credit and praise to God for the inspiration and idea of HtH and is honoured to serve alongside her husband and an incredible team. Beth has led and taught people age 6 to age 65+ through choirs, schools and church ministry. She is passionate about empowering individuals to share their time, resources and unique talents with others for God’s glory and for the love of humanity.
Beth holds a Bachelor of Education degree (majors in Music, French) from the University of Alberta, a Diploma of the Faculty of Fine Arts (specialization: Kodaly concept of music education) from the University of Calgary, is a graduate of Leadership Calgary and is currently working on her Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from Eastern University. She has also traveled to over 35 different countries and has over 30 years of performing experience.
Beth serves as a director on the board of Rosebud Theatre and School of the Arts and is the Worship Service Coordinator for the No Greater Love Festival. Her most favorite and important responsibilities are any that come with being wife to Reid and mom to her three children.
Reid McLean Wiest
Reid has always loved singing, has an affinity for a cappella music, and has been a founding member of several vocal ensembles dating back over 20 years. Most notably, he led OnCue, a division of the Youth Singers of Calgary, for 10 years. He is also an active composer and arranger, and his works have been performed and recorded by several groups and choirs in Alberta.
Outside of his musical pursuits, Reid loves being married to Beth, and raising their three children. Reid also works as a family doctor in Calgary - his patients and colleagues frequently catch him singing in the hallways! And to let off steam, Reid enjoys tearing up the squash court with his good buddy, Torri.
Torri has a lifelong passion for music and performance. He holds undergraduate degrees (B. Mus – vocal / choral performance and B. Ed) from the University of Manitoba. While attending U of M, he sang in numerous choral groups including the University Singers and Vocal-Ease Jazz Ensemble. In 2004, following seven years of conducting and leadership in church ministry, Torri earned a Masters degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Calgary.
Torri also served as the Artistic Director of the Savridi Singers (a women’s choir) for 10 years, as Co-director of Second Chants, an adult recreational choir within the Youth Singers of Calgary for five years, and he is the Fine Arts teacher at Heritage Christian Academy.
Other passions in his life are his wife Jennifer, their two daughters, Torri’s love of the NFL, and weekly games of squash with Reid!
Producer, Choral Conductor
Becky holds an undergraduate degree in vocal performance from Rocky Mountain College and a Masters degree in Conducting from the University of Calgary. Since 2005, Becky has been a director with the Centre Street Church choir and orchestra, a local group of about approximately 200 musicians who perform for weekend services and seasonal concerts.
Becky fosters a deep passion for choral music and believes in its power to explore the hidden places of the soul. Becky has been a life-long resident of the Calgary area where she now lives with her husband Barron and two daughters.
Choral Conductor, Ensemble Leader
John is a worship pastor, piano teacher, and the artistic director and arranger of Blend Vocal Ensemble, a women’s vocal group. He does a great deal of other songwriting and arranging as well (always for love, and sometimes for money.)
Outside of the realm of music, John has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Alberta College of Art and Design, and a Masters of Christian Studies from Ambrose University. He loves climbing mountains, playing Ultimate, and spending time at Pioneer Ranch Camps in the summer.
Bookkeeper, Ensemble Leader
Kelly has been a student and performer of music for over 20 years. Soon after obtaining her Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Calgary, she realized she needed a place where she could develop her leadership abilities and have a community of support, as she was a new youth pastor in a church congregation. Several of her friends told her about Harmony through Harmony - where she could develop her leadership skills, learn more music, and on top of that, be a part of a movement bringing justice to this world. As a self-proclaimed apathetic when it came to world justice issues, Kelly decided this would be the perfect fit to develop skills she much needed while growing compassion for others. And it worked!
In addition to HtH, Kelly enjoys her other venues of music that are largely performing and teaching violin. She also enjoys activity outdoors where she feels most connected to God, cooking, and spending time with her dear friends and family, including her husband Darryl and their new daughter!
Katie has a Masters Degree in Communications from Dalhousie University, and worked for many years with the Calgary Board of Education. She is a sessional instructor at Alberta Bible College, and she regularly serves as a worship leader at Centre Street Church.
Katie is adored by her husband Cam, and her two children.
